One record that I found by chance that started me on a journey collecting vintage Jazz was an early release of Ken Colyer, it was mixed in with random records in a very messy antique store, random, piles of stuff everywhere it was a real lucky find.. Early Colyer Lps don't turn up often..

As the speech suggests listening to this music was a great surprise and I wanted to find all about Colyer and his band. He had a great way of keeping all the players together when they played, no one trying to out do the other. The whole was more important than the part. Music was everything to Colyer.....Passionate plus++++ His music is no accident he sought out great Jazz pioneers like Bunk Johnson, his music definitely has roots back to early black Jazz and blues..
