Paul tells me that there was no heaters for the valves. I did think that the pre had a burnt out transformer.
Paul found that is was in fact a burnt out bridge rectifier which he has now replaced. I am thrilled to have
this pre amp fixed so I can use it again. It was built by a good friend from my past that has sadly gone
missing in action so it has some sentimental value to me. I love the sound of this old unit, the power supply
is a valve style B+ into a line stage using 5751 driver tubes into Mullard EL84 in triode mode. It has heaps of
drive and the hole in plate EL84 Mullards have a lovely sound as you leak owners already know.
Can't wait to get this going again.
